Claire Danes came to L.A. to audition for "Schindler's List"
but was discovered for the lead role in the television show "My
So Called Life". When director Steven Spielberg said she
would be perfect for the role she turned it down because they wouldn't
give her schooling on the set. "My So Called Life"
identified with teenagers for its issue. That same year Danes got the
role of Elizabeth March in the much buzzed about "Little
Woman". Claire Danes went on to do "Romeo and
Juliet" "U-Turn" and "Brokedown
Palace". Danes has turned down such coveted roles as Lolita
in "Lolita" and Rose in "Titanic".
Maybe she knows more than we do she briefly dated Matt Damon in 1996 before
he was a household name.
